Below, we'll cover how to report spam texts to Apple and to your service provider.

The good news is that you can report spam text messages to the same number for most major service providers, including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Unfortunately, reporting iMessage spam to Apple is a multi-step process, and takes longer than simply deleting the unwanted message. On the plus side, though, taking the time to report such spam ought to help Apple cut back on it overall.

After updating to IOS16, I get a Report Junk message when trying to delete a message that is not in my contact list. The messages that I am receiving that Apple considers spam are notifications from my bank, my credit cards, my doctor, my orders. I'd prefer not to take the extra step to deny reporting the assumed junk to Apple or ATT. I can't add these message id's to my contacts because they are not the same all the time. I don't want them filtered to a spam folder and not be notified because it is important that I see them immediately. Anything I can do or I'm just stuck with taking an unnecessary extra step. Thanks for any responses.

This is the only thing about iOS 16 that I don't like so far. It is driving me insane because I've accidentally reported as junk at least 3 entities that I definitely did NOT want to report as junk. And I also don't know where to go to 'undo' this action. I'm concerned that I will be blocking myself from important messages. I hope that's not the case, but at any rate, Apple, please please move this interface to another method. Tap and hold, then Report Junk would work, but DEFINITELY don't keep the current arrangement where it automatically brings up the option to take such a rash action and makes it WAY to easy to accidentally do. And don't add an extra step to create a barrier to quickly deleting text threads like this does.

The Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA) has designated 7726 (which spells SPAM) as a number for reporting spam texts. Most major carriers in the U.S. are members of the GSMA, including hundreds of providers from all over the world.

You can also report spam text messages and calls to government organizations. For information on how to report text to the Federal Trade Commission, visit this link. You can also report spam calls to the FTC's Do Not Call Registry at this link.

Alternatively, you can email Apple directly to report spam. Send a screenshot of the offending spam message, the phone number or email address from which it originated, and the time of day you got it to [email protected], and Apple will look into the allegation.

That time you should think about reporting iMessage spam to Apple so that you know who the sender is and what they do. If it is a valid spam message, Apple will make suspense with the iMessage account of the sender and also to block the sender yourself. In this post, we will instruct you how to send iMessages spam to Apple

After reporting spam messages to Apple, now you simply wait and see whether Apple takes actions with that account. Or if you want, you can block the sender to stop receiving messages from that person. However, reporting to Apple is still the key to getting rid of the issue.

Many new features have emerged in iOS over the years, and amongst those, iMessage is arguably the most useful in the day-to-day routine. While it has its fair share of issues, its nice to see that work is being done to ensure a much improved overall service for the future. With the method narrated above, you should easily be able to report and block spam messages in iMessage.

How do I report spam like this, which appeared in Messages on my iPhone? My carrier is AT&T. As I understand it, we can tell from the screen shot (because of the "Text Message") that my carrier delivered the message via SMS, not over Apple's secure iMessage protocol. Which means this is a very different situation from Spam on iMessage - What are my options?. (I think the originator can have whatever email addresses they want appear both above and in the text "Text Message" - they could easily have been, and likely are, forged - the email addresses ending in .ec and .com.)

To report a spam SMS message received on your iPhone, you can forward the text to the number SPAM (7726). AT&T will reply with a text asking for the phone number of the person who sent the spam text message. Reply with the phone number and that's it.

Please note that due to technical reasons, some email messages forwarded to reportphish@wellsfargo.com may be rejected by our server. If this occurs, please delete the suspicious email or text message. Wells Fargo regularly works to detect fraudulent emails and websites. Thank you for taking steps to protect your personal and financial information.

One common method of opting out of receiving non-nefarious spam texts (like that restaurant offering the free milkshake) is to reply to the message with "STOP." It can be a quick and easy way to end messages from everything from a political campaign to your internet service provider.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon all accept spam reports through this number. You may receive a follow-up message after reporting a message, asking for more information or to confirm the number the original message was sent from.

If you're using Google's Messages app, start by opening the spam message, then tapping on the menu button in the top-right corner and selecting Details from the list of options. On the following screen, select Block & report spam followed by OK. The Messages app will send the number and the 10 previous messages from it to Google for analysis to improve future spam detection. Your replies to the number are not sent to Google. If you'd rather just block the number, uncheck the box next to "Report spam" before tapping OK.

In this instance, the messages come from an email address instead of a phone number. First of all, you are not alone. This is a common and concerning problem involving many iPhone users. The bad news is that these spam texts will not disappear any time soon, but the good news is that there are steps you can take to block them to ensure that you receive fewer messages like these.

A better solution to spam texts is to block all texts from unknown senders. With this setting, any number or email address not saved in your contacts will be blocked. Messages from these unsaved contacts will go straight to the junk folder in the messages app and you will not get a notification. You can enable this setting in four easy steps.

We also recommend that you turn on the SMS Filter in your Messages app. This will help you further understand the category of messages you receive, like Transactions and Promotions. The SMS Filter can be enabled by following some easy steps. 2ff7e9595c
